When we first started thinking about building a website for The Wood Stock we knew that we needed some quality photos of our products. Not just photos of the boards, but photos showing how we like to use the boards every day. Photos that make your mouth water. Think cheese, cold meats, bread. You get the idea. We’re big fans of Crush Online, so we got in touch with Russel Wasserfall, Crush Online’s food photographer extraordinaire. A few weeks later we found ourselves at The Table restaurant at De Meye wine estate for the photo shoot. If you’re into simple country food, prepared using seasonal local ingredients, look no further than The Table. I’m ashamed to say I still haven’t enjoyed a boozy Sunday lunch there yet. Camilla, I’ll book a table soon, I promise! Having arrived with a car full of cheese, cold meats, fruit, more cheese, artisan bread, herbs and jams, we immediately got to work. Russel’s laid back style made the day loads of fun. The props, being cheese and bread and the like, was gladly consumed after each frame. And so when the sun set over the cape winelands – and we had almost sunk into a cheese induced coma – we had some seriously cool foodie photos for the website. Three cheers for Russel Wasserfall!
